Injection Therapies for Pain Management:
- Dry needling (Biomedical-acupuncture) for Pain Management: Inhibit the "interference field" (pain fibers) by activating distal neuro-muscular-homeostasis points with needles. An interference field is any pathologically damaged tissue, which acts as a stimulus to the pain fibers. No infusion needed for this therapy.
- Trigger points injections: infusing intramuscularly preservative free anesthesia and homeopathic medicine to release the trigger points.
- Neural Therapy: This is a gentle healing technique developed in Germany which involves the injection of local preservative free anesthetics into peripheral nerves, scars, neuro-acupuncture points, trigger points, skin and other tissues to address the "interference fields". An interference field is any pathologically damaged tissue, which acts as a stimulus to the pain fibers. Neural Therapy corrects and reset the dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system by stopping the interference field. Once this occurs the organs, glands, and body tissues can function better, eliminating chronic disease conditions
- Prolotherapy. Prolotherapy is an injection technique by infusing preservative free anesthetics and vitamins to local injury site to stimulate the body to grow stronger ligaments, tendons, muscles, and joint tissue. It is also helpful at eliminating the pain of conditions such as arthritis, migraines, back pain, Fybromyalgia, headaches, and many other painful conditions.
The basic mechanism of all injection therapies is to stimulate a local-control inflammation process in the injected area. The localized inflammation triggers a wound healing cascade, resulting in the deposition of new collagen, the material those ligaments and tendons are made of. New collagen shrinks as it matures. The shrinking collagen tightens the ligament that was injected and makes it stronger.
Physical Medicine Services:
- Osteopathic Spinal Manipulations. A lot of time, pain is caused by an entrapped nerve, or joints subluxations. Often time by simply moving the restricted/affect joints can release the pain very effectively.
- Electric-Muscular Therapy: This is by far the best way to treat muscular pain. The basic mechanism of this therapy is to fatigue/relax a hypertonic/spasmodic muscle so that the therapist can re-introduce a proper contracting rhythm back to the injured muscle with Spray and stretch therapy, Neuromuscular Massage techniques and Cupping Therapy.
- Ultrasound therapy: the ultrasound probe for physical medicine will emit a regular and high frequency-vibration to the muscle to reset and reeducate the muscle to contract properly. This vibration not only relaxes the muscle but it also releases myofascia restrictions that are commonly seen in all soft tissue injuries. Once we relax the injured muscle, the therapist can re-introduce a proper contracting rhythm back to the injured muscle with Spray and Stretch Therapy, Neuromuscular Massage techniques and Cupping therapy.
- Orthotics: For years workers have complained about foot, knee and back pain in the workplace. And many of these pains have arisen due to the increasing exertion we apply to the feet. Orthotics inserts supply a cushion interface between the foot and the floor, which reduces exertion on the foot and hence biomechanical pressures across the body and the pain.
Soft Tissue Adjustments Techniques:
- Spray and stretch
- Neuromuscular Massage
- Cupping
When many muscles in one region of the body, such as the shoulder are involved and the Trigger Points are interacting strongly with one another, soft tissue Adjustments is a practical means of covering many muscles over a large territory to make significant progress toward pain relief. Soft Tissue Adjustment Technique requires localization of where in the muscle the taut bands are located, to insure that those fibers are adjusted.
Nutritional Therapies co-management for pain management
- Herbal Medicine and Vitamin Infusion Therapy are commonly use in conjunction with a personalized Anti-inflammatory and Elimination Diet to lower the overall inflammation level to address fatigue, pain, low energy symptoms. Any injured tissue such as; muscle, ligament or joint needs specific nutrients in order to rebuild the damage tissue and to promote a comprehensive healing. Our physicians take the time to listen, analyze and prescribe personalized treatment plans on a one by one basis.
- Weight Loss. One of the pain management treatments for low back pain and hip pain which is useful for patients who are overweight is to help them to lose weight. Bio-mechanically speaking, losing weight can decrease the overall weight bearing tension between the hip joints/bones and spinal vertebra joints. With a proper spinal manipulation to open the subluxations, we can achieve 30% or more of pain reduction.
